The Nursing Home Ministry is one of Wesley Foundation's
newest outreach groups. This ministry allows students to
sing and fellowship with senior citizens at Stella Manor each
week. These seniors enjoy spending time with college
students. One resident said that "she was hopeful about
the future" because "young people" took time out of their week
to spend with her. A typical outreach time allows students
to offer seniors hope in the form of familiar hymns, a short
devotional, and one-on-one encouragement. One student
said, "I thought that I would be reaching out to the seniors and
helping them, but they have taught me so much more than I could
possibly give back." |
